Laboratory of thermal analysis and reaction to fire

As the name suggests, it is possible in the laboratory to perform, for example, measurements to determine the production of heat during the burning of the investigated material or to monitor the properties of materials as a function of temperature (TGA). In the laboratory, students can work in the field of PTCH materials in the processing of diploma or bachelor's theses. The laboratory is equipped with instrumentation, which is not used for direct teaching of students in laboratory exercises.

List of devices

Cone Calorimeter

The device is used to determine the rate of heat release under an adjustable thermal radiation load up to 100 kW.m-2. At the same time, the weight of the test sample of material is recorded. Heat evolution is evaluated from the loss of oxygen in combustion products.

TGA/SDTA 851 Thermal Analysis

Analytical instrument designed to monitor changes in weight and temperature in a sample of material as the temperature changes. The device includes an ultra-micro balance, a circulating liquid thermostat, its own thermal analyzer and a computer with special software for controlling the course of tests and their evaluation.

TGA/DSC2 Thermal Analysis

Analytical instrument. Monitoring changes in mass and heat balance in a sample of material at changing temperatures. The device includes an ultra-micro balance, a circulating liquid thermostat, its own thermal analyzer and a computer with special software for controlling the course of tests and their evaluation.
