MS Teams

Programme is focused on various aspects of:

  • Occupational Safety
  • Major-Accident Risk Assessment
  • Fire and Explosion Protection

Online Lectures consist of brief theoretical fundamentals followed by practical workshops, games, case studies. The attendees will gain the following competences:

  • Broaden their knowledge in HSE management
  • Experience interactive teaching methods for education in HSE sphere
  • Share knowledge and build network among the students
  • Develop cultural awareness and open-mindedness.
  • Develop critical thinking and problem solving abilities

Target groups

The course is intended for students of the Master degree programmes or students from of 3rd or 2nd year of Bachelor programmes with some knowledge of HSE management who are interested in safety and security issues.

Prerequisites

The HSE Summer School is held in English. In order to participate, students should have sufficient language skills.

Lecturers

Aleš Bernatík, VSB-Technical University of Ostrava, Czechia

Ales is a PhD in Methodology for Industrial Risk Assessment and graduated in Environmental Protection. His scientific and research work is aimed on risk analysis of industrial accidents and major-accident prevention.

Gert Van der Sypt, Artesis Plantijn University Antwerp, Belgium

Lecturer at Artesis Plantijn University College. Gert focuses on Integral Safety, Machinery Safety, CSR, Science and Technology.

Lucie Kocurková, VSB-Technical University of Ostrava, Czechia

Lucie has been working in occupational safety and health (OSH) for the last 10 years. Her research interests are focused on risk assessment methodology and aerosol exposure assessment.

Ivana Slováčková, VSB-Technical University of Ostrava, Czechia

Ivana is a consultant and trainer in the areas of safety leadership, safety culture and effective training. She is also lecturer at the VSB.

Yvonne Toft, Australia

Yvonne leads a transdisciplinary program group teaching and researching in areas related to human factors engineering, OHS, accident forensics & investigation in public safety, industrial and transport related contexts.

Geoff Dell, Australia

Geoff is a safety scientist with 36 years systems safety, risk management and accident investigation experience across most industries. He delivers strategic safety advice, leadership and services to industry, governments, and expert reports to the Courts.

Shevaun Dell, Australia

Shevaun provides research services in the areas of Accident Forensics, Transport and Safety Sciences for various projects including witness reports for the courts.She is experienced in investigation consulting, training and research projects.

Jan Skrinsky, VSB-Technical University of Ostrava, Czechia

Jan is a researcher at VSB-Technical University of Ostrava and Occupational Safety Research Institute. He specializes in research, prevention and assessing of Major Accidents.

 

Bruno Fabiano, University of Genoa, Italy

Bruno is Professor of Chemical Plants, Genoa University. He did his PhD in Environmental Technology and Economy. Main fields of his research activity include safety and loss prevention in the process industries, occupational injuries analysis and prevention, inherent safety development and environmental protection.

Tomaso Vairo, University of Genoa, Italy

Tomaso is a risk analyst, cfd modellist, researcher and science communicator. His activities include safety management systems evaluation in major accident, evaluation of safety reports and research in the field of atmospheric dispersion modelling.
