On June 30, 2026, we welcomed students from the COLOSH summer school, which we organize at our faculty, to the Simulation Technologies Center. During their visit, the students learned about crisis management, how individual exercises and classes are conducted at our faculty, and were also able to see how the emergency services drill during a blackout, organized by the Olomouc Fire and Rescue Service, and last but not least, they were able to try working with the interactive map in the crisis management classroom themselves.
The visit would not have been complete without a tour of the XVR classroom, which focuses on training emergency response teams and occupational safety and health (OSH) technicians in virtual reality. The students learned about the principles behind such exercises, and finally, as is customary in our department, they tried the exercise firsthand and played the role of an occupational safety and health specialist in the company’s production hall.
